Why Does Custom Tin Packaging Have an MOQ?

Even when an existing mold is used, the factory still needs to prepare the order separately, install the required tooling, adjust the machines, organize workers, inspect the first pieces, and manage the production run.

Some costs remain almost the same whether the order is for 500 pieces or 3,000 pieces. When the quantity is too low, these fixed costs make the unit price disproportionately high.

Gang-Run Offset Printing

If the project can be combined with another compatible printing order, gang-run printing may make a smaller quantity more practical.

This depends on printing specifications, coating, sheet layout, timing, and available production arrangements. It cannot be guaranteed before the artwork and project details are reviewed.

Screen Printing

Screen printing may be suitable for relatively simple artwork, especially when the design uses a limited number of solid colors.

It can sometimes provide a more economical option for smaller quantities. However, very fine text, small details, gradients, or photographic artwork may not reproduce as clearly as they would with offset printing.

The final result depends on the artwork and the printable surface.

UV Printing

UV printing may be considered for smaller projects when the logo or design can be printed on a suitable flat surface.

For example, UV printing may work on the flat top of a lid. It is generally not suitable for every curved or formed surface, so the tin structure and print position must be checked before quotation.
